Feels good to be caught up

I am completely caught up on all my photo editing! Nothing pending or waiting for my attention or any looming deadlines. This is really awesome considering I have 12 hours of college this semester <GULP>! I am also doing two of these classes without a text book because they havn't arrived yet <double GULP>. Ah, the joys of living overseas...

My big project is done - the DAS Cheerleaders KAIAC photos. I am burning the disks as I type.

I also have some other photos that I LOVE...

I LOVE these!

This little guy is just too cute and I just love the mother daughter shot below.

Just too wonderful.

Lots of smiling faces

Had the joy of working with two families and two best friends this past weekend. Of course then I got really ill and haven't been keeping up with this blog and even got delayed on my editing. But, I'm caught up now so I wanted to share because they are just to awesome for words.

This is the Love family and I absolutely LOVE them!

Part of the reason I love them is because they are Texans and Texans are the best.

I had a great time with the Love family and then I got to work with the Arroyo-Diaz family - she's 9months and still looks great. I mean, who looks like this at 9 months?! I didn't have to do any retouching at all and she's still this gorgeous...

So after this wonderful maternity session (she's having a boy by the way), I got to spend the morning with two BFFs that made my day. They were so much fun and couldn't stop giggling!

More photos of these girls to come...

Also, I am still working on the DAS Cheerleading photos - there's a TON of them and it's probably going to take me another two weeks to get everything edited and disks burned (but it's totally worth it!).

On a side note, I am taking 12 hours this semester so I will be limiting my sessions to make time for studying and homework (and to make sure my house doesn't fall apart). I am going to try really hard to keep up with my blog but don't be suprised if there is only 1 post a week.

That's all I can think of for now.

Story boards

I've really gotten into making story baords lately. Don't know why, I guess they're just fun because they are still new. Here are a few that I've done lately.

Should have some more to add soon since i FINALLY have my computer up and running. I'll be adding more photos to the DAS Cheerleaders page soon too. Now if I could just get rid of this pounding sinus headache...

Ugh.

So my wonderful new computer is in the shop again...got it back "fixed" yesterday and guess what? It wouldn't load windows! Of course this renders the supposedly "fixed" computer completely useless for anything except maybe as a very large, expensive paperweight.

All my wonderful clients waiting for photos - I apologize because I still do not have a working computer (except this lap top which doesn't let me put out the quality work you deserve) and I do not know when I will be getting it back. Hence the "Ugh" because I feel like I am banging my head against a wall with this computer since this is the 6th time in the past two months that I have had it "fixed" and it's still broke. Really, banging my head against a wall would be more fun at this point.

That being said, my wonderful husband just called to tell me he is on his way to pick up my computer that is "fixed"...again.

If all goes well I should be posting again tonight. I have some more DAS Cheerleading photos to post and some more family photos as well.

Fun with the Mitchell Family

Had a great time with my first family shoot that I've had for a while. I love working with kids, they are so unpredictable and fun. I must say that the Mitchell's little girl did really well (most kids her age won't look at the camera for more than a few moments!).

I just LOVE the green tongue!

I think this shot is so great - perfect example of how most kids feel about having their photo taken! This session will be a two part; I don't like to force kids to take photos when they really don't want to (tired, cranky, whatever...) and I know how hard it is to schedule a photo session for a young kid and have it work out to where they are comfortable and in a good mood. So lucky for me they will be able to bring her back for a part two so we can get some more photos!

I always remember it being inevitable that I would schedule a photo session for my oldest son when he was younger and he would ALWAYS be either tired or cranky or hungry even though I scheduled it around his "normal" schedule. Not to mention the new environment, bright lights and camera in their face! I have found that breaking the session down into two shorter sessions works best for young kids. By the second session they do a lot better in front of the camera. This isn't always true, but more often than not.

It's looing to be a busy weekend and I am truly thankful that I am on the end of this sinus infection (no more green!). I'm a little disappointed that the weather isn't cooperating; not only does bad weather mean no outside photo session, it also means no rock climbing! I will do my best to make it to the gym Saturday evening for a run and maybe some sauna time. Got my new Vibram Fivefingers Bilika in the mail and havne't been able to use them yet!

Where is this global warming everyone's been so freaked out about?!

Ah well, another snowy, wet, and cold weekend in the house...at least I'll have tons of time to edit photos!

Thursday in Korea

So there's this wonderful thing that happens on Thursday in Korea (at least on the US Military side of the house) - everything is CLOSED for at least half a day! I have had the worst sinus infection for the past week and have finally given in to the fact that I desperately need antibiotics if I want to stop the flow of green and red from my nose and stop this pounding headache that is no doubt the result of even more red and green that hasn't yet left my sinus cavity (too graphic?). So of course it's Thursday which means I have at least five or six more hours of suffering until I can even go to the clinic. Then there's always the possibility that in their infinite wisdom they will just send me up to the ER.

Now if you have never been to a Korean ER...I really don't know how to describe it to you. Let's just say culture shock and move on.

Beyond my head feeling twelve sizes larger than it really is I have had the pleasure of taking some wonderful family photos this week of the Mitchell family. Part two will be this Friday since their little one decided that it was too late to be taking photos yesterday. Should have some great photos to post this weekend. In addition I have four other appointments that I am really looking forward to - which is why I need to feel better NOW!

I also have another My Beauty Campaign session coming up soon! I LOVE these sessions! There is nothing more rewarding that watching someone transform in front of your eyes into realizing how beautiful they truly are. It's magical.

And if none of this post made sense just blame it on the splitting headache I have impairing my ability to form a complete thought.

I have started on a new mission - My Beauty Campaign created by Mandi Nuttall. So far it has been AWESOME! My first session was a blast. I'll let the photos speak for themselves...

She did such a great job - I am going to shoot her again in the spring when it's a little warmer. For more inforamtion on the My Beauty Campaign please see the tab to the left.
